h3 Pyramid Certifications

Equine Therapy Facilitator

The certification process is a multi-level system for the h3 professional facilitator. The purpose of the multi-level system is to ensure that the professional facilitator(s) gain the ability to:

  • See – the theory/principles in action between human/horse.
  • Understand – the theory/principles in action between human/horse.
  • Act – in harmony from key theory/principles to enhance human/horse relationship.

It is important that the facilitator(s) be efficient in moving the handler (client)/horse through treatment specific goals. The mental health facilitator(s) must show the ability to apply and integrate horsemanship principles with principles/skills found in evidenced-based treatment (CBT, DBT, ACT, etc).

The ability to integrate horsemanship with evidence-based treatment principles/skills is vital for the h3 professional facilitator(s). A top priority is the treatment needs of the handler/horse. The level system provides the necessary structure to learn, grow, experience, and become skilled in providing quality treatment to enhance both human and horse.
